Great news, the MBTA is proposing repair an old train line, called track 61, used in the past to ship supplies received from ships at the Seaport District in Boston to the Back Bay area. The proposed line would go from a station in the Seaport District to the Back Bay Station. This line has not been used for many years but if repair as the MBTA has proposed, it would save a lot of people time on commuting. The Seaport district has been going through a great transformation. Many businesses have relocated to the area and has helped it grow new businesses, restaurants, and now new luxury apartments and condo.
Currently, the only way to get from the Seaport area to the Back Bay area is to either take a bus or take the silver line to South Station's Red line to Park Street Green line to Copley. Therefore, having this line repaired would help cut down on commuting and may even help grew the residential property in that area.
